Chapter 1 – Hunting the White Wolf
February 22nd, 1392
From the very beginning, Julian had doubts as to whether the fabled Vesperwilk could even be made to bleed, but the old man was right, they could; at least this one could.
The two figures followed the trail of blood into a dark fir wood. The deep powdery snow that lay over the hills gave way to a thin blanket of white as they entered the forest. Beneath the trees, the snow had an icy crust which crunched loudly underfoot, but that did not matter; the need for stealth was well past.
I'm looking forward to a three session webinar I signed up for which starts at the end of February. It's geared toward making sure your first several pages are as near perfect as is possible. I try to strive for the whole book to be perfect but there will always be things to improve. I imagine every published author feels that way even about their best work.
